There is just the one terminal with check-in desks on the first floor, and the Arrivals hall on the ground floor.Airport Parking at CardiffThere are short- and long-term pay-and-display car parks. Pre-booking a long-term space will save you money. Disabled parking is available and all car parks are open 24 hours a day, every day, and are secure.Getting to and from CardiffCardiff International Airport is situated in Rhoose, 20kms west of the city centre and near the M4 motorway. By car, exit on to the A-4232 at junction 33 of the M4, and then take the A-4050 at Culverhouse Cross, which leads on to the A-4226 for the airport.The nearest railway station is in Barry, to the south, from where regular trains run to Cardiff Central station. Those travelling on from Cardiff should take a taxi to Cardiff Central station from the airport, from where Intercity and Alphaline trains leave for destinations nationwide. Various bus companies link the airport and the city: Cardiff Bus (X91), and Shamrock’s (X45) both run hourly during the day from Monday to Saturday; while EST bus (345) runs hourly during the evenings from Monday to Saturday; and First’s (X5) bus runs every two hours on Sundays only. Amenities at Cardiff AirportThe information desk is situated on the first floor and there are three bureaux de change throughout the terminal building as well as ATMs. Other essential facilities include baby change rooms complete with tables and nappy dispensers.Food and beverages are all available from the food court area that overlooks the runway, while the Scrum Half Bar and Pride of Wales traditional pub serve some real ales and hot food. There are two World News outlets with newspapers, books, snacks, gifts, tobacco and confectionery on sale and a duty-free shop in the Departures lounge that offers a good range of perfumes, alcohol and electronic equipment. Kids also have two games arcades: one on the first floor of the concourse and one in the departure lounge. |
