Orlando International Airport (MCO) information

Introduction

Florida’s state-of-the-art airport facility serves an average of 80,000 passengers daily and over 30 million people each year, with more than 80 airlines operating out of this bustling transport hub, providing services to an enormous variety of domestic and international destinations. The airport is the United States’ fourth-busiest and it features an award-winning array of facilities and services at its modern, three-storey terminal building.

Airport parking at Orlando

Orlando Airport’s Terminal Garage Parking encompasses two sizeable parking facilities, A and B, which are located on either side of the airport building and cumulatively providing both short-term and long-term parking for 9,300 vehicles. The terminal can be easily accessed on foot from both A and B parking lots and most parking spaces here are covered for convenience and vehicle protection. Terminal Parking Garage B has additional parking for particularly large vehicles. Both garages are clearly signposted from the airport entrance roads and feature parking spaces for disabled passengers that are located near the lifts. Parking at these facilities is free for the first 30 minutes, after which normal rates apply. In addition to the Terminal Parking facilities, the Blue Satellite Parking Lot is situated just off Semoran boulevard on Cargo road and it caters to the regular overflow of passengers who are unable to find spaces at the terminal garages. Additionally, the Gold Satellite parking area can be found on Tradeport drive, two miles west of the Blue lot, while the Red Satellite area is situated roughly one mile south of the airport building. The satellite parking areas are served by a round-the-clock, courtesy shuttle bus that provides transportation to and from the terminal building.

Getting to and from Orlando

Located less than seven miles southeast of Orlando, the airport is easily accessible by car. If you are driving to the airport from the north, you have the options of taking either state road 417 Greeneway or state road 436 Semoran boulevard, and then following signs along either route to the airport. From the south, you can take state road 417 Greeneway to the airport; from the west, I-4 and state road 528 Beeline expressway provide access; and from the east, I-95 and state road 528 Beeline expressway will take you to the airport. Taxis provide a speedy, convenient means of transportation to the city and are available from outside Level 1 on either side of the terminal building. Trains travel regularly between the airport and central Orlando, stopping at the Greyhound terminal (555 N John Young parkway) and at the Amtrak station (1400 Sligh boulevard). Lynx buses depart from Level 1 on Side A of the terminal, providing affordable transport to the downtown area.

Amenities at Orlando International Airport

ATMs and currency exchange counters are located at several points around the terminal building. Business services within the airport terminal are restricted to internet access, but the nearby Hyatt Regency Orlando International Hotel offers a full range of business, conference and secretarial services.

A wide variety of retail outlets are scattered throughout the terminal and an excellent selection of restaurants and bars are on hand to provide refreshments, including a microbrewery. A hair salon as well as massage and shoe shine services are available at the airport. Disabled passengers have access to wheelchairs, ramps and modified telephones.

Information kiosks can be found at the East and West halls of the airport building.
