Introduction

Miami International Airport is one of America’s most significant airports, serving over 30-million passengers annually and providing transport to some 150 destinations worldwide. Miami International consists of just one terminal building, with eight concourses encompassed within.

Airport parking at Miami

Miami International Airport provides both short and long-term parking, with short-term lots provided within easy walking distance of the terminal building and identified as Upper and Lower Level Park One. The Dolphin and Flamingo garages provide long-term parking in two multi-storey facilities, which are linked to the airport terminal via pedestrian sidewalks on the third level of the parking garages. Parking for disabled passengers is provided in the eastern extremes of the Dolphin Garage.

Getting to and from Miami

To reach Miami International by car from Miami city centre, join I-95 north before turning off onto state road 836 west. Take Le Jeune Road Northbound (NW42 Ave) exit, from where the airport is well signposted. If you are coming from the north, follow I-95 south to state road 112, and then follow signs to the airport. If you are coming from the southwest, take state road 836 north or the Turnpike north to 836 east, then turn off at Le Jeune road northbound and follow the airport markers. To reach the airport from the South Beach area, take MacArthur Causeway westbound to state road 836 west, and then turn off at Le Jeune road northbound, from where signs will lead you to the airport. Alternatively, several Metro lines travel between the airport and various locations in Miami. Additional transportation options from the airport include taxis, limousines and shuttle services as well as the local city Metro-Bus service, with the bus station situated directly opposite the Customs area on Level 1 of Concourse E.

Amenities at Miami International Airport

Miami International Airport encompasses a wide range of passenger facilities and services, with restaurants, bars, cafés, snack bars and fast food outlets scattered throughout the terminal. Retail opportunities are offered by a number of duty-free and other shops, while banking services and currency exchange counters are located at several points in the airport and telephones, internet and postal services are easily available. A Lost and Found room is positioned close to the entrance area of Concourse E on Level 2.

The airport encompasses a chapel, pharmacies, health club, unisex hair dressing services and baby change facilities, which can be found at various locations in the building. Business amenities, including conference and meeting rooms, are available at the Miami International Airport Hotel, situated on Level 2 of Concourse E.

Passengers can obtain information from the Information Centre on Level 2 of Concourse E, or alternatively, by making use of the free airport paging system - look out for the white telephones.
