The airport is 5kms from Canary Wharf, 10kms from the financial district, and 16kms from the West End. A single terminal handles nearly 1.7 million passengers per year. There are good connections to Switzerland, Germany and other parts of northern Europe, as well as several locations in the UK including Manchester, Liverpool and Edinburgh.Airport parking at London CityA short-stay car park adjacent to the terminal charges £4 for the first hour, or £22 per day. Rates are slightly less in the main car park, a short walk from the terminal. Long-term parking discounts are offered for periods of more than one week. Local buses also serve the airport directly, and depart from outside the terminal for numerous area destinations. A direct railway link (Docklands Light Railway) to London City Airport is scheduled to open in late 2005. A licensed taxi rank (black cabs) is situated outside the terminal building; fares to most parts of London range from £20-£25.Amenities at London City AirportTwo ATMs are located in the main concourse on the ground floor, and another can be found in the international baggage reclaim area. There are three currency exchange bureaus as well – one in the main concourse, one in the departures lounge, and one in international arrivals. A duty-free shop offers pens, watches, fragrances and jewellery, plus wine and spirits. Other retail establishments sell newspapers and books, gourmet foods, and shoes and apparel. Five eateries serve a range of foods, from snacks and light meals to fine dining. One specializes in seafood and pasta, and another is a wine and tapas bar.
