Jersey International Airport (JER) Information

Introduction

Jersey is the largest of the UK’s Channel Islands, situated in the Bay of Mont St. Michel about 25kms off the northwest coast of France. Jersey International Airport is also the busiest of the airports in the Channel Islands, handling more than 2 million passengers each year. Scheduled flights directly link the airport to 30 cities throughout the UK. International destinations include Ireland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Madeira, Canary Islands, Croatia and Cyprus. The airport is located near the village of St. Peter, about 12kms northwest of the island’s capital and largest city, St. Helier.

Airport parking at Jersey

Three car parks contain spaces for 650 vehicles. The short-term car park is directly in front of the terminal, and holds about 125 cars. A medium-term lot, with 250 spaces, is just beyond. Slightly farther away, but still within walking distance, is the long-term car park, for 175 vehicles. Pay stations for the car parks are located inside the terminal building – one in the departures concourse, and one in arrivals.

Getting to and from Jersey

Although the island is small and distances between towns is not great, traffic can be a problem, so allow adequate driving time. From the airport, follow the roadway south until it joins with the A1; this leads directly into St. Helier. The Jersey Bus Service runs between St. Helier and the airport every 20 to 30 minutes; the buses also stop in St. Aubin, St. Brelade and St. Peter. Taxis are also available outside the terminal’s arrivals concourse; fares to St. Helier and other popular destinations are in the €9-€15 (£6-£10) range.

Amenities at Jersey International Airport

Two ATMs are located in the center of the terminal, and there is a bureau de change in the arrivals concourse. Several shops can be found throughout the terminal, including a florist and a newsagent/bookshop which also carries gifts and souvenirs. The airport’s duty-free shop is located beyond the security checkpoint. Dining and refreshment options are offered at the Island Quarters cafeteria, the World News Café coffee bar, and the Bar Roc.
