Isle of Man Airport (IOM) Information

Introduction

The airport on the Isle of Man, between England and Ireland in the Irish Sea, handles more than 800,000 passengers each year. There are direct scheduled connections with 16 cities in the UK, plus Dublin and Paris. The busiest routes are to and from Liverpool, Manchester and London-Gatwick. A single terminal serves all flights. The airport is located 2kms from Castletown and about 14kms southwest of Douglas, the island's capital and largest city.

Airport parking at Isle of Man

The airport's main car park, a short walk from the terminal, is fenced, patrolled by 24-hour security and illuminated at night. Parking is free for the first hour; after that, fees are €0.60 (£0.40) per hour up to a daily rate of €13.75 (£9.20). For longer-stay parking, each additional day is €4.50 (£3).

Getting to and from Isle of Man

Any point on the island is not more than an hour away by car. To reach Douglas, about a 20-minute drive, take the A5 motorway which is connected to the airport by a short access road. Route 1 buses stop at the airport and serve Douglas, Castletown, Port Erin and other destinations. Departures are hourly, or every 30 minutes during peak times. A taxi rank is situated outside the terminal entrance; all island destinations are covered by fixed tariff charges.

Amenities at Isle of Man Airport

There are two ATMs in the main entrance lobby, and a currency exchange bureau opposite the arrivals entrance. The Skylines Travellers Store on the first floor sells a full range of newspapers, periodicals, books, gifts, confectionery and tobacco. The Café Oasis offers casual dining, refreshments and snacks. For business travellers, a meeting room can be booked in advance through the airport director's office, and fax and photocopying services are obtainable upon request at the airport information desk.
