Guernsey Airport (GCI) Information

Introduction

The second-busiest of the Channel Islands airports, Guernsey Airport handles more than 880,000 passengers each year. Scheduled daily flights connect with Jersey and Alderney (the other main Channel Islands) plus London Stansted and London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, Exeter, Southampton and Bristol in the UK; and Dinard and St.-Brieuc in France. A new, modern terminal building was completed in 2004, and boasts many improvements including expedited security procedures and spacious waiting areas with panoramic views of the Guernsey coast. The airport is located 7kms southwest of St. Peter Port, the island’s capital city. Hours of operation are 5:30 to 20:00 (in summer) and 6:30 to 21:00 (in winter).

Airport parking at Guernsey

The public car park, open during airport hours, is situated on the north side of the terminal, and offers space for 275 vehicles. Rates are more favorable for shorter stays. The first hour is free; after that, fees are €3 (£2) for up to 6 hours, €12 (£8) per day for the first 2 days, and €24 (£16) per day subsequently.

Getting to and from Guernsey

Guernsey Airport is situated on the main road which encircles the island. St. Peter Port, the island’s main city, is a 10-minute drive to the northeast. Island Coachways operates a bus service linking the airport with St. Peter Port and other island destinations. A taxi rank is located in the airport’s forecourt; pre-booking is recommended (telephone: +44 (0) 1481 244444).

Amenities at Guernsey Airport

Financial facilities are limited to an ATM in the main concourse. A duty-free shop offering luxury goods is located in the departures lounge. Another shop in the main concourse sells newspapers and books, tobacco and confectionery, perfumes and gifts. There is also a flower shop. Dining options are offered at the Le Gouffre Food Village on the ground floor, and at the Ritazza café/bar on the upper floor.
