Antalya International Airport (AYT) Information

Introduction

The “gateway to the Turkish Riviera,” Antalya International Airport is located 10kms east of the city of Antalya, on Turkey’s southern Mediterranean coast. The airport’s modern, spacious terminal handles nearly 1 million passengers each year. Primary international connections are with the UK, northern and eastern Europe, Israel, Egypt and Iran. According to its website, the airport strives for “the quality and atmosphere [of] a five-star hotel.” Those arriving at the airport by air pass through an art gallery displaying objects reflecting Turkey’s archaeological and cultural wealth; departing passengers stroll through a botanical garden.

Airport parking at Antalya

Two attractively landscaped car parks (one for cars and the other for buses and coaches) are located directly in front of the terminal building. The car parks are monitored by security personnel 24 hours a day.

Getting to and from Antalya

The airport is just off the D350 highway which leads west directly into Antalya city centre either via the Gazi Bulvari or Aspendos Bulvari roadways (a 15-minute journey). Beyond Antalya, the D400 highway continues south along the coast to Kemer (60kms). Eastward from the airport on the D350, the road leads to the coastal cities of Manavgat (75kms) and Alanya. Buses connect the airport with Antalya city centre, running about 12 times per day in coordination with flight times. Taxis are also plentiful in front of the terminal; trips into the city cost about €8-€12.

Amenities at Antalya International Airport

Essential facilities include four ATMs, two currency exchange bureaus and a post office (in the departures hall). Medical service is available 24 hours a day as well. Shops on the departures side of the terminal offer duty-free merchandise plus tobacco, fashions, gourmet foods and regional handicrafts. Five cafés and fast-food outlets are located near the gate area; there are also casual dining establishments in the arrivals hall and in the check-in area.
