In addition to a multitude of flights to cities in Germany, the UK and most other parts of Europe, there are direct scheduled international flights to such far-flung destinations as Hong Kong, Bangkok, Bombay, Johannesburg, Dar es Salaam, Washington and Montreal. The airport has two three-level terminals which are connected internally. Here, rates are €15.50 per day, €57 per week and €165 per month.Getting to and from ZurichThe airport is directly connected to the A51 autoroute which leads into Zurich city centre. Trains run between Zurich’s main station and the airport’s Terminal B every 10 minutes during peak periods; travel time is 10 minutes. There are also trains departing every 30 to 60 minutes from the airport for other major cities in Switzerland including Basel, Berne, Lucerne, Lugano and Geneva. Eleven bus lines cover the region surrounding Zurich Airport, departing several times each hour. The airport bus terminal is located behind multi-storey car parks 2 and 3. Most major hotels in Zurich have their own complimentary shuttle bus service as well. The airport taxi rank is situated in front of the arrivals hall. Taxi fare to central Zurich is around €35.Amenities at Zurich AirportThere are banks, numerous ATMs and bureaux de change, and a post office. Nine FASTpoint terminals provide telephone, fax and photocopying facilities; wireless internet is available as well. The Unique Conference Centre has 36 meeting rooms of varying sizes which will accommodate up to 120 delegates. A vast array of shopping options is offered at the airport, with 60 shops landside and 50 airside, including duty-free and regular. Products for sale include such Swiss specialties as watches and chocolates.
