There are more than 100 daily flights to London airports alone. Situated 15kms west of the city centre, Edinburgh International Airport has just the one terminal, with International and Domestic Arrivals located on the ground floor.Airport Parking at EdinburghThere are short- and long-term car parks, with discounts available to those who pre-book the long-term spaces; a courtesy coach transports passengers to the terminal. The short-term car park is located directly in front of the terminal building.Getting to and from EdinburghGetting to Edinburgh International Airport by car is straightforward. The access road is located just off the main A-8 Glasgow-Edinburgh road, to the north of the Gogar and Newbridge roundabouts.There is no rail service at the airport; however, a regular bus service operates from zone A (outside the terminal) to the main Edinburgh bus terminus, Edinburgh Waverley railway station, and Edinburgh Haymarket railway station. Buying a single Airsaver ticket gives same-day, free access to LRT buses around the city. Coaches also run to Dunfermline and Livingston from the airport. The quickest way to get to Edinburgh is by taxi – a 20-minute journey. The taxi stand is located in front of the terminal. Amenities at Edinburgh International AirportEssential facilities include a bureau de change and ATMs on the first floor of the Departures area, and a bureau de change in the Arrivals hall. Additionally, there is a first-aid room and a pharmacy, as well as a left luggage facility located between the check-in and International Arrivals hall on the ground floor, open everyday (05:00 – 23:00).Baby care rooms can be found in both the UK Arrivals hall and in the Departures lounge, and the information desk and Edinburgh Tourist Board desk are located in zone D, International Arrivals. Restaurants, cafés and bars are scattered throughout the building and are mostly open from 06:00 to 22:00. Well known eateries and bars on the first floor include: Burger King, Brioche Dorree, Village Grill, Franklins of Boston, JD Wetherspoon and Jenners. Shoppers have a huge range of UK high street stores and designer boutiques to choose from, and duty-free outlets are well represented. |
