Netherlands Airports

One of the most laid-back countries in the world, the Netherlands may only be the size of Wales and as flat as a pancake, but this rich nation and has much to offer visitors. Holland’s cities are cool and loaded with historic attractions. The contributions of master artists such as Rembrandt are on show in city museums and galleries and the nightlife here is unfettered.

Despite its small size, Holland has its fair share of airports and you can fly into just about any corner of the country from overseas. To complement the airports, the country boasts an excellent transport network of railways and motorways, although roads are often congested during rush hours.

Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport is without doubt the country’s number one airport and one of the world’s busiest, with flights arriving and departing from all over the globe. Connections between the airport and the city are excellent, with trains, buses, shuttles and taxis all operating speedy services.

Gateway to the southeast of the country, Eindhoven International Airport handles a respectable 400,000 passengers a year, with frequent connections with Amsterdam, London and Paris. Its single terminal easily serves all domestic and international flights and frequent buses run to the city throughout the day, as do taxis.

Located in the north of Holland, Groningen Airport is a convenient facility for accessing the north. Although only a small air hub, Groningen handles well over 100,000 passengers per year and operates over a dozen routes with numerous carriers. The airport is only open during the day and there are just three check-in desks. Buses run from the airport to the city and there are also taxi/train combination transfers available on one ticket.
