Click here for an Cheap Airport Parking quotation Mexico City Benito Juarez International Airport (MEX) informationIntroductionLocated roughly eight miles from Mexico City, Mexico City Airport is also known as Benito Juarez International Airport. It is regarded as one of the nation’s major transport hubs, providing access to destinations across the country and acting as a gateway to the city and all of central Mexico. Serving over 20-million travellers per year, it is one of Latin America’s busiest airports.Airport parking at Mexico CityMexico City International Airport offers almost 5,000 spaces for both short and long-term parking. Parking is divided into four separate parking lots, which are located within easy walking distance of all international and domestic lounges.Getting to and from Mexico CityThe airport can be reached from Mexico City by taking Fray Servando avenue northwards and then turning left onto Rio Churubusco. From here, clear signs will lead you directly to the airport. Rental cars are available at the airport, with over ten vehicle rental agencies to choose from. Navigate the roads cautiously in Mexico; they can be treacherous due to notoriously bad drivers. Alternatively, a Metro rail station is located just two minutes walk from the terminal building, with underground services being very reasonably priced. The Metro station can be accessed by turning left as you leave the airport building and you will see the station after passing the parking lots. However, crime rates are high in Mexico and the underground can be dangerous – taxis and buses are a safer transportation option. Taxis can be taken from outside Area A of the terminal building and per-paid taxi tickets can be bought at counters in the baggage reclaim areas. Make sure you take an official taxi from the taxi stand – never take a random passing taxi. Buses leave from just outside Gate D, providing transport to various locations in and around the city.Amenities at Mexico City Benito Juarez International AirportThe airport consists of a single, long and narrow terminal building, with eight separate lounges. A recent expansion has extended the eastern wing of the airport. A number of banks are scattered through the terminal and round-the-clock ATMs and currency exchange counters are distributed around the airport building. Business services and amenities can be found at the International Business Club on the second level of Concourse D as well as at various executive lounges around the airport and the Mexico City Hilton Airport Hotel.Refreshments are available at an array of restaurants, bars and fast food outlets, some of which are open 24 hours a day. An internet café is located at Lounge E and postal services are available in the Domestic Arrivals area. Both duty-free and regular shops provide a kaleidoscope of shopping opportunities including handicraft stores, bookstores, newsagents and much more. A medical centre is open both night and day, and pharmacies are on hand for less serious medical needs. Disabled passengers are well looked after at Mexico City International, with ramps, lifts and wheelchairs distributed throughout the airport as well as specially reserved parking spaces. Baggage packing services are available close to lounges B and D. Information counters are situated at Lounge A Domestic Arrivals and Lounge F International area. Additionally, travel advice and regional information can be obtained from the tourist office at Lounge B.
