Ireland is mainly boasts beautiful countryside and there are some truly scenic places to check out such as Blarney, the awesome Cliffs of Moher and numerous lakes and rivers that are teaming with fish.

There are 11 airports in this small country, many of which receive international flights. Ireland is also fed by ferries from England, Wales and Scotland, but with the advent of budget airline Ryan Air, flying here is both cheap and fast.

Dublin International Airport is Ireland’s main airport and also the primary gateway to Northern Ireland. There is just one terminal here that serves 15 million passengers per year - three times the country’s population. Buses run to Dublin city centre as well as nearby cities and train stations.

Located in the Irish southwest, Kerry International Airport handles 200,000 passengers per year and has regular flights to Dublin and London. A server of Ryan Air flights, public transport from the airport is non-existent, but taxis are available and road access to Kerry is good.

Also in the southwest, Shannon International Airport is a large facility providing access to the area and handling about three-million passengers a year. Not far from Limerick, Shannon Airport receives transatlantic flights at its single terminal. Bus Eireann and taxis provide transport to Limerick, from where trains run to destinations all over Ireland.
