Cork Airport (ORK) Information

Introduction

The airport is located 10kms south of the city of Cork, the largest city in the south of Ireland. The famed Blarney Stone is 8kms northwest of the city. More than 2.2 million passengers pass through the airport each year. A single two-level terminal hosts 12 airlines which serve 27 scheduled domestic and international (UK and continental Europe) destinations.

Airport parking at Cork

Car parks at the airport have 2,800 spaces available. Short-term parking is directly opposite the terminal building. The first 15 minutes is free; after that, rates are €2 per hour, and €12 per day. Two other car parks are designed for medium and long stays. Rates for medium-stay are €6 per day and €30 weekly. Car park Remote No. 2 (long-stay) charges €10.50 per day or €20 per week.

Getting to and from Cork

The airport is just off the N27 roadway, which leads directly into Cork city centre. The R600 leads south to Kinsdale. Eireann buses connect the airport with Cork’s central bus station at the corner of Merchant’s Quay and Parnell Place. Buses depart about twice an hour, and the one-way fare is €3.70 (journey time, 25 minutes). Taxis are also available for transport to Cork city centre; fares are between €10 and €13 for the 15-minute trip.

Amenities at Cork Airport

A branch of the Bank of Ireland is located in the main concourse. The bank operates a bureau de change, and there is also an after-hours currency exchange machine as well as an ATM. Duty-free and regular shops offer a selection of liquor, luxury goods, confectionery and travel essentials. The Café Kylemore, which serves dishes from sandwiches to a full a la carte menu, and the Wild Geese Bar/Lounge are situated on the first floor.
