The airport is located 8kms north of Hamburg. There are four multi-level terminals: Terminal 1 for domestic and European destinations; Terminals 2 and 3 for international and domestic service; and Terminal 4 for long-haul flights. Free shuttle bus service is offered between the terminals.Airport parking at Hamburg International AirportAn automated parking guidance system directs incoming drivers to the nearest free parking spaces. Short- and medium-term parking is available in car parks P1, P2 and P4. Car park P6 is intended for longer-term parking, and is linked to all terminals by a free shuttle bus. Very long stay parking is offered in the off-airport car parks P8 and P9. Valet parking is available in car park P5.Getting to and from Hamburg International AirportThe airport is situated near the A7 autobahn, on the A433 motorway between ring roads R2 and R3. The route to and from Hamburg city centre is well sign-posted, but drivers are cautioned about rush-hour congestion and are urged to use public transport whenever possible. The “Airport Express” bus departs from all terminals every 10 minutes, connecting the airport with the Ohlsdorf suburban subway and railway station; this in turn offers connections to downtown Hamburg. Buses also leave every 15 minutes from in front of the terminals to Hamburg’s Hauptbahnhof (central station), as well as other area destinations. Taxi ranks are found in front of all terminals; the fare for the 30-minute drive to the city centre is about €20.Amenities at Hamburg International AirportATMs can be found throughout the airport. A bank, a bureau de change and a post office are located in Terminal 4. A variety of shops, including duty-free, are found primarily in Terminals 3 and 4; shopping options include leather goods, fashions, perfume and souvenirs. Food and beverages are offered at several restaurants, bars and cafés located throughout the airport. Among other amenities are a pharmacy/first-aid station and a chapel.
