Introduction

This small airport is located 5kms north of Perpignan, a 1,100-year-old city which serves as an ideal base for exploring the eastern end of the Pyrennes Mountains and Spain’s Costa Brava to the south. The airport handles primarily domestic flights, and also offers regularly scheduled connections to the UK.

Airport parking at Perpignan

The airport’s 780-space car park offers free parking for the first 15 minutes. Rates are €1.60 for the first hour and €2.20 for two hours, up to a 24-hour rate of €10.60. The two-day rate is €13.70, and the weekly rate, €27.40.

Getting to and from Perpignan

The airport is a few minutes from the A9 motorway which leads north to Narbonne and Nimes, and southward to Spain. Perpignan city centre is a 10-minute drive from the airport. From Perpignan, once-daily high-speed rail service is available to Paris. Trains depart at 7:00, arriving at Paris’ Gare de Lyon at 12:58. The return service leaves Paris at 15:30, arriving in Perpignan at 21:29. Shuttle buses operate four times a day between the airport and Perpignan’s bus and railway stations. Departure times from outside the airport’s arrivals hall are 10:05, 14:35, 16:50 and 18:20. The trip (ten minutes travel time to the bus station, another five minutes to the train station) costs €4.50. A taxi stand is located outside the arrivals hall; fares to the city centre are around €15.

Services are limited; even seating is at a premium. An ATM is located just outside the terminal building. Regional products, wines, books, newspapers and tobacco are sold in a shop situated in the central hall. A small café/bar in the departures area serves light meals and refreshments.
