Most international flights arrive here, while domestic flights generally arrive at Orly Airport to the south of the city. Approximately 45 million passengers per year travel through Roissy/Charles de Gaulle International Airport. The airport’s three terminals are linked by a free shuttle bus service. Terminal 1 handles international traffic, except for Air France flights. Terminal 2 (which is further subdivided into sections A through F) is utilized by Air France, as well as other airlines which connect primarily with European destinations. The third terminal is used solely for charter flights.Airport parking at Paris Roissy/Charles de Gaulle International AirportTerminal 1 has two car parks, P1 and PR. P1 is a three-level structure with 1,703 spaces. Rates are €2.80 per hour, with a daily rate of €22.50. The PR open-air economy car park, with 1,370 spaces available, has the same hourly rate but a lower day rate (€12). Be advised that in both of these car parks, after 24 hours the hourly rate applies. Terminal 2 has four car parks, three of which are covered: PAB (for access to sections A and B of Terminal 2), PCD, PEF and PX (open-air). These car parks have more than 14,000 spaces between them. Rates are the same as those for Terminal 1. All of the airport’s car parks are linked to the terminals by free shuttle buses.Getting to and from Paris Roissy/Charles de Gaulle International AirportFrom Paris, take the A1 via Porte de la Chapelle; alternatively, take the A3 via Porte de Bagnolet, which later joins the A1. The drive can take between 40 minutes to two hours, depending on traffic. Shuttles from the various terminals (and several flights of stairs) bring travellers to the airport’s RER metro station. The metro line connects the airport with Paris’ Gare du Nord train station. Trains run from 5:00 until midnight, and depart every 10 to 15 minutes (journey time, 25 minutes; one-way fare, €7.85). Roissybus offers bus service between the terminals and rue Scribe in central Paris. Buses depart about every 15 minutes from 6:00 to 23:00; the fare for the 45-minute journey is €8.20. Connections to and from the city are also available by Paris city bus (more economical, but with frequent stops); and by Air France’s express shuttle bus service to the Arc de Triomphe, the Gare de Lyon or the Gare Montparnasse (€12). A fleet of minivans, taxis and limousines stand ready to take travellers to their desired destinations in the city; fares run from €35 to €100.Amenities at Paris Roissy/Charles de Gaulle International AirportAs one might expect of an airport of this size, there is a full range of banking, postal, business and medical facilities available – plus a seemingly endless array of shops (regular and duty-free), restaurants and bars.Essential Travel airport parkingEssential travel can provide airport parking at all major UK airports.
