Nice Côte d’Azur Airport (NCE) Information

Introduction

Located 7 kilometres west of the city centre, Nice Airport is the gateway to France’s Mediterranean coast, the Côte d’Azur. With connections to New York and major cities across Europe and the Middle East, the airport is one of the country’s most active. More than 9 million passengers annually pass through Nice Airport’s two terminals, which are linked by courtesy shuttle buses. The airport is large enough to offer many services, yet small enough to be pleasant and friendly. It is clean, well-maintained and beautifully situated, with magnificent views both from the terminal and on takeoff or landing.

Getting to and from Nice

The road link to Nice, and continuing farther east to Monaco and Italy, is the Promenade des Anglais. If driving westward to Antibes and Cannes, take the Autoroute A8, or the national roads RN98 or RN7. Inland to Digne and Grenoble, follow the RN202. Rail access is provided by SNCF, the national train service. Trains leave the Gare Nice St. Augustin (500 metres from Terminal 1) or the Gare St. Laurent du Var (3 kilometres from the airport) for Nice and other locations from Cannes to Vintimille. Bus connections are available to the train stations, as well as to Nice city centre, about a 20-minute ride. City buses leave from Terminal 1, stand 6, every 12 minutes during peak hours (€1.30). Buses going directly to Nice’s central bus station depart from Terminal 2, stand 5, and Terminal 1, stand 1, every 30 to 50 minutes (€3.50). Taxis may be found 24 hours a day at authorized taxi stands outside the arrivals halls. Travel time into the city is less than 10 minutes, the fare about €20-€25. To Cannes or Monte-Carlo, the fare is €60-€65. High flyers may choose helicopter service, which is available to Cannes and St. Tropez; arrangements can be made at the airport.

Amenities at Nice Airport

Both terminals have ATMs, banks and bureaux de change. Terminal 1 also has a post office, as well as a pharmacy, a 24-hour medical centre and a prayer room. At last count, 44 shops offer an array of duty-free and regular goods, including fashions, lingerie, jewellery, perfumes, regional foodstuffs and gifts. Each terminal has several restaurants, bars and cafés. A business centre is located on the second floor of Terminal 1. Fully equipped meeting rooms and conference facilities for up to 250 people may be found there. Private rooms for business use are also available in Terminal 2.
