Click here for an airport parking quotation Lyon-Saint Exupéry International Airport (LYS) InformationIntroductionSituated 24 kilometres southeast of Lyon (the second-largest city in France), the airport serves more than 6 million passengers each year and provides access to the country’s Rhone Alps region. There are regular scheduled flights to major European cities and other international destinations including Africa, the Middle East, Canada and the Caribbean. The airport’s twin two-level terminals are joined by a main hall, with free shuttle bus connections also offered. Terminal 1 handles domestic flights to all main airports in France, while Terminal 2 serves international arrivals and departures. In both terminals, departures are on the second level (where most of the airport’s facilities can be found), and arrivals on level one. In 2000 the airport was renamed in honour of the famed Lyon writer and aviator Antoine de Saint Exupéry.Airport parking at LyonThere are five car parks, labeled P0, P1, P2, P5 and P6. The underground car park P0 offers short-term parking with direct lift access to the terminals. P1 and P2 are short-term car parks for Terminals 1 and 2 respectively. P5 and P6 are long-term car parks served every 10 minutes by a free shuttle bus (from 4:45 to 23:35).Getting to and from LyonThe airport is located on the A-432 roadway. It can be accessed by car from the A-42 towards Geneva, or the A-43 towards Chambéry. Trains connect the airport’s TGV station with major cities in the region and beyond, including Paris and Marseille. Buses run between the airport and Lyon city centre every 20 minutes, from 6:00 to 23:20. The fare is €8.40. A taxi rank is located outside of Terminal 1. Fares are displayed, but additional charges are incurred for tolls, luggage and driving conditions (i.e., snow).Amenities at Lyon AirportThere are three ATMs in the terminals, as well as a currency exchange booth and a post office located on the second level of the connecting hall near Terminal 1. Additionally, an automatic currency exchange machine can be found in Terminal 1. The selection of shops includes newsagents, a jeweller, a grocer, a beauty shop, a pharmacy and a Printemps department store. Four restaurant/cafés (situated in the central hall between the terminals) and four bars (in the departures areas) offer an assortment of meals and refreshments. Above the connecting hall is the four-star Sofitel Hotel, convenient for late-night arrivals or early-morning departures. The business centre has 11 meeting rooms and a conference room holding up to 80 people, and offers audiovisual equipment, secretarial services and catering facilities.
