Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne Airport (BIQ) information

Introduction

Located just 3 kilometres southeast of the resort town of Biarritz, on the spectacular French Basque coast, the airport also serves the nearby towns of Anglet and Bayonne. Last year saw nearly 800,000 passengers pass through this modern and expanding hub for one of France’s most popular destinations. Primary carriers are Air France and Ryanair, with international connections to many of Europe’s major cities including London, Dublin and Geneva.

Three car parks (P0, P1 and P2) encompass 700 spaces for vehicles. Short-term parking is found in P0, with rates of €0.70 for 30 minutes, €1.50 for one hour and €2.30 for two hours. Car parks P1 and P2 are situated farther away from the terminal building, and are more suitable for long-term parking. Rates there are €3 for 12 hours; €5.30 for one day; €9.90 for two days; and €3 for each additional day.

Getting to and from Biarritz-Anglet-Bayonne

Biarritz Airport is located 3 kilometres from both Biarritz and Anglet, and can be accessed by car via either the A-63 motorway or the N-10 highway. Good motorway connections make Biarritz within easy reach of San Sebastian (40 kilometres) and Bordeaux (180 kilometres). Buses leave the airport every 40 minutes to Biarritz, Anglet and Bayonne (one-way fare, €1.07). Connections are also available to the coastal towns of St.-Jean-de-Luz (€2.36) and Hendaye (€4.34) to the southwest. Current timetables are available at the airport. Taxis depart from outside the terminal, and provide access to the nearby towns and resorts. The fare for the five-minute trip to Biarritz or Bayonne is €9.15, €12.20 at night.

An ATM is located on the ground floor in the center of the terminal, next to the information desk. Shops on either side offer a wide range of duty-free products, such as local wines and spirits, as well as newspapers, books and snacks. A restaurant and bar on the ground floor provides meals and refreshments. Meeting rooms are available for business travellers, and can be equipped with audiovisual aids.
