The airport has a single terminal catering to both domestic and international arrivals and departures.Airport Parking at NewcastleA short-term parking lot is located close to the terminal building, while long-term parking is situated farther away, and connected to the terminal by means of a 24-hour, free shuttle bus. Pre-booked parking is also available and highly recommended. It can be difficult to secure a preferable parking space if you do not book ahead.Getting to and from NewcastleThe A696 leads directly to the airport, and can be accessed by means of major motorway A1. The airport is clearly signposted from the A1 Newcastle to Edinburgh road.Newcastle Airport lies along the underground metro route, and is directly linked with 45 other metro stations, including Newcastle Central station, Gateshead, and the coast. Rail services run from Newcastle Central station to destinations across Northeast England and Scotland and to London Kings Cross. Frequent buses run from Eldon Square Bus Concourse in the city centre to the airport entrance almost every 20 minutes during the day Monday-Saturday, with the first bus departing Eldon Square at 06:20. Sunday bus services commence at around 07:30 and run every 1 hour, 20 minutes after 08:20. The last bus Monday-Sunday runs at 23:00. Taxis operate from the airport and are provided by the Airport Taxi Association, which has a desk inside the terminal. Amenities at Newcastle AirportA comprehensive business centre is located on the first floor of the main concourse area. Additional business services, including internet access, faxing facilities and telephone, are provided by the Cheviot Executive Lounge in the Departures lounge, and the British Airways Lounge in the Departures area.Numerous retail outlets are spread out across levels 1 and 2 of the terminal building and in the Departures lounge, where duty-free shops offer a multitude of goods, including: fragrances, cosmetics, wines, spirits, electrical goods, watches, jewellery, CDs, confectionery and cigarettes. Eateries within the terminal building include the self-service Connections Food Court, Costa Coffee Shop and Cushie Butterfields Pub, which serves a selection of alcoholic beverages. Special needs toilets, ramps, TDD phones and extra wide entry/exit points are provided for disabled passengers. The information desk is positioned next to the newsagents on the ground floor of the terminal, and the 24-hour Tourist Information booth is also located on the ground level.
