There is just the one terminal serving 2.5 million passengers per annum to scheduled UK and European destinations.Airport Parking at East MidlandsShort- and long-term car parks provide parking for up to 4,000 cars. The short-term car park is just outside the terminal building and a courtesy bus takes care of those using the long-term car parks. Disabled motorists are allocated easy-access spaces in both sets of car parks. Pre-booking is recommended.Getting to and from East MidlandsBy car from Nottingham, take the A-52 towards the M1 motorway and head south for the airport. Those coming from Derby should head along the A-50 (south) to the M1 and follow the signs, while motorists from Leicester will need to take the A-6 (north) to the M1 and then follow the signs.If you want to travel by train farther afield, Nottingham, Derby, Loughborough, and Long Eaton railway stations have direct links with other UK cities via the Intercity network. For added convenience, there is a Midland Mainline freephone booking centre near the information desk in the terminal. A handy coach service runs between East Midlands Airport and Leeds, Bradford, Sheffield, Coventry, Warwick, Chesterfield, and Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Getting to Nottingham, Derby and Leicester is straightforward, with services leaving from just outside the terminal building everyday. Amenities at East Midlands AirportEssential facilities include two bureaux de change located in the main concourse and several ATMs in the Arrivals area of the concourse. Lost luggage is handled by the information desk which is open 24/7. Additionally, there is a first-aid room and a baby care room located on the first floor in the International Departures lounge and in the International Arrivals hall.For sustenance, you will find a selection of cafés and restaurants on the first floor. A British pub with real ale is also on hand, as well as bars in both the Domestic and International Departures lounges. Children also have play areas in the main concourse and in the International Departures lounge. The Arrivals hall has a convenient convenience store, a pharmacy and a bookshop; jewellery, cosmetics and clothing and music shops are scattered throughout the building. |
