Straightforward to get to by air from numerous major US cities, there is an airport on each of the three main islands of Grand Cayman, Little Cayman and Cayman Brac. Those travelling from Europe usually need to go via a US city to get here, although there are some direct flights from London. Grand Cayman is the main island and features the capital of Georgetown. This is the main settlement of the island chain and it is loaded with historic delights. There is a charming waterfront here, while Seven Mile Beach located farther north is the main resort base of the island. Cayman Brac is the most remote of the main islands and is wilderness country, with dry, flat land and superb diving; the best spot is the Russian destroyer dive site. Little Cayman is the most popular of the islands among more discerning divers due to its uncrowded dive sites. The best sites here include Jackson Point and the Bloody Bay Wall. The main airport in the Caymans is Owen Roberts International Airport, which receives about 100 flights per week at its single terminal. Located just outside Georgetown, most flights arrive here from Miami with Cayman Airways and American Airlines. The flight time from Miami is only 1 hour, while expect to be in the air for 4 hours if you are coming from New York and 7 hours from London and Paris. Hotel vans and taxis provide transport to Georgetown and major hotels. The US provides the best access to the Cayman Islands from cities such as Miami, Orlando, Atlanta, Houston and Indianapolis as well as many others. You can also fly to Cayman Brac from the US aboard Cayman Airways, while Georgetown receives flights from Jamaica. Alternatively, cruise ships dock at Georgetown on Grand Cayman as well as at Creek on Cayman Brac.Essential Travel airport parkingEssential travel can provide airport parking at all major UK airports.
